STR supports Teach for India

Teach For India is a nationwide movement that aims to narrow the educational gap in India by placing the country’s most outstanding college graduates and young professionals, of all academic majors and careers, in low-income schools to teach for two years.

So, Teach For India fellows TEACH for TWO FULL years FULL TIME in a low-income school (in Mumbai, Pune or Delhi and in more cities in the coming years). The fellows are paid a stipend and housing allowance (if they are away from the home city)

Starting from 2009, Teach For India has been placing Fellows in English-medium, primary schools in Mumbai and Pune. By its fifth year, Teach For India aims to place hundreds of Fellows in the country’s top metropolitan cities and their surrounding rural areas.
