Bandstand Gigs Season is ON!

The annual season of ‘Bandstand’ gigs in the city has begun and is going strong! The gigs take place at the various ‘bandstands’ scattered across the island city – gazebos and stages built in public parks host rock and indie bands, jazz, big band, singer songwriters; quite a variety of talent is represented. It a great platform for upcoming artists and musicians besides being a much needed pick me up for our city in the public entertainment department.

History Lesson – Bands used to play at these places regularly back in the day. It was open to the public and the citizens had access to good quality entertainment for free in a nice park like open space.
